Louis Muhlstock, (April 23, 1904 – August 26, 2001) was a Canadian painter best known for his depictions of the Great Depression. Born in Narajów, Galicia, Austria-Hungary, he emigrated to Montreal in 1911. From 1928 to 1931, he studied art in Paris and returned to Montreal to become a full-time painter. In 2010, his work was exhibited as part of the McCord Museum's ''Jewish Painters of Montreal: Witnesses of Their Time, 1930-1948''. ==Honours== In 1978, he was awarded a Doctor of Laws, honoris causa from Concordia University.
